What is the ideal care for my upholstery?

In order to retain a regular appearance, we recommend that all areas of the upholstery be used to the same extent. Regardless of the upholstery material, the following applies:

never position furniture directly in front of a source of heat and avoid direct sunlight. Different upholstery materials require different methods of care.

What care instructions should be followed for leather furniture?

Leather is easy to care for and undemanding. Wipe it off every month or two with a damp cloth to preserve the moisture it needs. Leather should be treated with a leather care product once or twice a year. For this purpose, we recommend KERAGIL care set. Do not use chemicals or household cleaning agents for cleaning. Protect the leather from intense, direct sunlight.

What does the optimum cleaning of leather furniture look like?

The surface of pigmented leather is impregnated with a special protective finish. Nevertheless, stains on all leather qualities should be dabbed off with an absorbent cloth. Then wipe the leather surface using a mild soap solution (laundry soap) and a well wrung-out cloth. Rinse with clean water and dry with a woollen cloth. Never rub, even in the case of stubborn stains. Cleaning agents should first be tested on the enclosed sample or on a concealed area of the upholstery. Please do not use microfibre cloths designed for cleaning glass.

What care does furniture upholstered in fabric need?

Fabrics need regular care. Our furniture fabrics can be cleaned easily with a vacuum cleaner. The best method is to use a soft brush with a low suction and always vacuum in the direction of the pile. For heavier soiling and stains, we recommend that you use PURATEX textile care in accordance with the instructions. Cleaning agents that you have not used before should be tested on the enclosed sample or a concealed area of the furniture. After cleaning, let the upholstery dry completely before using again.

What are the care requirements for furniture upholstered in Alcantara?

Alcantara is easy to care for and retains its beauty for a long time with just gentle care using water. Please do not use any chemical cleaning agents and never rub too hard. You can find recommended care methods for certain stains on the Alcantara label.

Is leather upholstery easier to maintain than fabric upholstery?

It depends largely on the respective quality of the leather. Contact your Intertime dealer for individual advice.

Is it worth applying a stain protection finish?

We do not recommend it. The application of stain protection finish nullifies the warranty.

How often do I use the leather care kit?

We recommend using the leather care kit once or twice a year, before and after the heating season.

Where can I order the leather care kit?

The leather care kit is available from your authorised Intertime dealer or directly from Intertime.

How do I best charge my battery?

When the battery starts to lose “power” or if the battery releases a beeping signal, you should plug it in the battery charger and leave it to charge overnight.

 

Warranty/Repairs

 

What form of warranty do I have when buying an Intertime product?

Our internal quality standards are high – accordingly, we offer a five-year guarantee on construction, upholstery material, functional fittings and processing (from the date of the warranty certificate). Within this period, complaints that are due to defects in the material and processing are remedied free of charge, provided the furniture has been used appropriately in the living area under normal conditions and with the proper levels of care. The battery unit of electrically adjustable seating furniture is excluded from this five-year guarantee. For electrical components such as batteries, chargers and power supply devices, the period of warranty regarding defects in the goods is 24 months.

We offer a two-year guarantee on all fabric covers. This does not cover subsequent treatment with stain protection, supplied fabrics or foreign fabrics. The furniture must be used appropriately under normal conditions and with the proper level of care. Third-party interference or wilful damage are not covered by the warranty.

We offer a two-year guarantee on our high-quality leathers (from the date of the warranty certificate). This does not cover subsequent treatment with stain protection, supplied leathers or foreign leathers. Cowskin: Cowskin loses its hair on exposed parts through use and the associated mechanical abrasion. The bald areas are to be expected and are not a quality defect.

A certain degree of creasing of the covers is deliberate and not a quality defect.

A warranty claim must be lodged with the specialist dealer by presenting the complete warranty certificate (including the order number on the affixed label).

What should I do if my battery is defective?

If you are unable to charge your battery successfully, contact your Intertime dealer or contact the Intertime customer service department directly.

Can I have my old sofa re-upholstered by Intertime?

Yes, this is possible at any time. Contact your Intertime dealer or call Intertime directly for a quote.

What should I do if I want to repair my Intertime sofa/armchair?

Can I order products directly through Intertime?

No, we sell our products exclusively through qualified Intertime dealers. Contact us for a list of dealers.

Can I have my chosen product from Intertime upholstered in a foreign material?

What do I need to taken into account when doing so?

This is possible, provided that it is a suitable upholstery fabric. For an appropriate clarification, we need to know its composition, the width of the fabric and any potential repeating pattern of the desired fabric. However, we would like to point out that we do not offer any warranty for upholstery materials supplied by outside sources.

What is the average delivery time for upholstered furniture from Intertime?

The average delivery time is 6 – 8 weeks. However, it is worthwhile clarifying this beforehand with custom-made or specially supplied upholstery materials.

Is it possible to order special custom-made designs from Intertime?

Custom-made designs are available, they do however require a prior assessment that takes about 24 hours to complete.

What environmental protection requirements apply to Intertime products?

Intertime is committed to sustainability and environmental compatibility. In our production, we use exclusively CFC-free foams and leather that has been produced using environmentally-friendly processes and does not contain any harmful substances. Yet our commitment to sustainability goes beyond the product itself. As a family-owned company, Intertime stands for continuity: the company works actively to preserve jobs and create positions for trainees in Switzerland.

Where do the leather hides used by Intertime for manufacturing their products come from?

We only use European sources for our raw materials, preferably bulls.

Where are the Intertime products made?

The high quality products from Intertime are manufactured entirely at our facility in Endingen, Switzerland.
